Observations and things that are different

Drinks: Already knew this one- no alcohol (or beer carts) on the course, but the addendum, no water either Golf range- this was new. No balls, bring your own balls (and collect them)

Cash- first place in wales that didnt take card. Members card or cash..

Hard pan- probably not the norm but the norm this year due to drought. 

• A miss hit ball can be almost as good as a good one. I miss hit a 9 iron from 119 out , topped it and it rolled on the green (and I got a par)
• Hills are a killer- nothign to stop the ball rolling off the fairway

Hills  - 2 for 2 so far South wales courses are cut into the hills. You get your exercise walking thats for sure

singles twosomes- in the states as a solo, single player a large group will let you play through. But I woudl expect if a single or two some were ahead of you they would aks to join. Not today had a twosome ahead and single behind , no interest in joining up with me.

the turn- In the US the design is after 9 you are by the clubhouse (you can then get drinks, snacks, etc...) . In UK after 9 you are no where near the club house is is out 9 then back 9. It does keep rounds moving though

Blind shots/criss cross- this seems more common also, fairways croissing other fairways, blind shots. Course knowledge is handy

Todays highlights , 2 putts for birdie (made the 10 footer missed the 4 footer)

Sand saves- I am 5 for 5 in Wales at getting out of sand (unheard of in the US).
