fish and chips
Fish and Chips, things to know
The real deal, good stuff. Only take a way. No seats just order and go
Chip shop menu
lots of fish selection- Cod, Haddock, Plaice, Sea Bass, Hake plus prawns, squid...
Also typical- pastries (in this case steak and gravy, beff+chicken mushroom, minted lam)
Some items to lookup
Saveloy, faggots, Rissole , Chip butty (see end of post for the answers...)
Interesting to note curry options
The chip shop guy said the irish curry is the one with spice too it
The fish came up in a nice bag
unfortunately didnt get a good pic of the fish, it took me 20 minutes to get to where i was goign and the paper was kind of sticking to the fry
Now to the what are those section
Saveloy>a type of highly seasoned sausage, usually bright red, normally boiled
faggots > or savoury ducks, are meatballs made from minced off-cuts and offal (especially pork, and traditionally pig's heart, liver and fatty belly meat or bacon) mixed with herbs and sometimes bread crumbs.
Rissole > ball or flattened cake of chopped meat, fish or vegetables mixed with herbs or spices, then coated in breadcrumbs and fried.
Chip butty > sandwhich filled with chips (or fired to americans)
